Vulcan B.2 XH558 was first delivered to RAF Waddington on 1 July, 1960 and was the last Vulcan in service. On retirement, it was sold to the Vulcan Operating Company, and was flown to Bruntingthorpe on 23 March, 1993. VOC worked on returning XH558 to flight, supported by the 'Vulcan to the Sky Trust', the aviation industry and a significant grant from the Heritage Lottery.
