An all wool tie of muted natural tones woven in the traditonal manner on the Hebridian Isle of Islay
“In 1994 I was asked to weave a tartan for a new film starring Mel Gibson about the life and death of Scotland’s greatest hero William Wallace. That film was called Braveheart. The colours available in Wallace and Bruce’s time were extracted from the natural products available. Berries, lichen, gorse and peat were all used to die the wool before weaving the tartan” Gorden Covell, Islay Woollen Mill
