Britsh Airways 'Concorde in Sun Burst' fidge magnet supplied on backing card with a brief history on the reverse
The commercial supersonic era was inaugurated on January 21, 1976 with British Airways flying from London Heathrow to bahrain. Flights to New York began in November 1977.
Concorde flew supersonically at more than twice the speed of sound at around 1350 mph. It took just 2.75 seconds for Concorde to travel one mile at Mach 2.
