Product Description

In the months Mackintosh spent at Walberswick, between 1914 and 1915, he produced over 40 flower drawings for publication or exhibition on the continent; plans curtailed by the outbreak of war. This watercolour is inscribed ‘Larkspur Walberswick August 1914 CRM MMM. Larkspur (Consolida ambigua) is a commonly cultivated hardy annual that grows wild in the Mediterranean region.
