National Museums Scotland own Christmas greetings cards inspired by the Turkey Red collection.

Message reads ‘Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year’

Turkey red textiles were made in Scotland with a brilliant red dye and produced between the late eighteenth and early twentieth century. Production was concentrated in the Vale of Leven in Dumbartonshire and the fabric was exported all over the world, especially to India and the Far East.
