Bronze replica statue of the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge in the Great Glen of Scotland near Achnacarry. The 17 foot high memorial statue was designed by Scott Sutherland from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee in 1949 and dedicated to the Commandos by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother on 12 September 1952 to commemorate the many members of the elite commando units who trained in the area during the second world war.
The inscription reads, "United We Conquer In memory of the officers and men of the Commandos who dies in the Second World War 1939-1945. This country was their training ground"
