A panoply of international talent, including UK Tattoo debuts for performers from China and a Canadian choir helped celebrate the 60th Edinburgh Tattoo at this year's Castle Esplanade Homecoming-themed spectacular.
With over 1000 performers, featuring the Massed Bands of the RAF, The Top Secret Drum Corps from Basel, the Central Band of the Swiss Army, the Tongan Royal Corps of Musicians, The Calgary Burns Club Singers from Canada, 100+ Highland Dancers including 50 dancers from Australia, Brit Award winning pipers and drummers as well as singers from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, the show offered an absorbing array of fresh talent whilst retaining its popular format which attracts capacity audiences annually.
In a dramatic finish, the Massed Pipes and Drums and Massed Military Bands join together in this year's finale for an emotional performance of Amazing Grace.
This mutinational event commemorated the 250th anniversary of the birth of the iconic Scottish poet Robert Burns, while paying tribute to this year's lead Service, the Royal Air Force.
