Northern Lights: The Age of Scottish Lighthouses by A. D. Morrison-Low has been published to mark the 200th anniversary in 2011 of the world’s oldest rock lighthouse, on the Bell Rock or Inchcape Reef, off the east coast of Scotland. National Museums Scotland are hosting an exhibition, Shining Lights, using its pre-eminent collection of sea-marking material. This fully illustrated book tells the story of Scotland’s lighthouses through narrative, objects, charts and photographs.
