The Cutting Edge celebrates the diverse range of innovative and exciting new craft work currently being produced by emerging Scottish artists in a wide range of media – ceramics, glass, metal, textiles, paper, leather, furniture and baskets. As well as essays by leading figures on the contemporary craft scene the book also includes interviews and biographical portraits of all the participating makers with illuminating details about their practice, techniques and work. Based on the touring exhibition The Cutting Edge and companion volume to Scotland’s Crafts. Edited by Catriona Baird, freelance curator for the project, and Rose Watban, Curator of Glass and Ceramics (Modern) at National Museums Scotland. Photographs by Shannon Tofts.
