It also presents the full stories of the prince’s only child, Charlotte, Duchess of Albany; her mother, the tragic Scottish Jacobite Clementina Walkinshaw; and the fates of Charlotte’s three children, one of whom has living descendants.

Originally published by Amberley in 2010 the book has been rewritten, expanded and updated.

It now has 150 illustrations including 70 portraits – many rarely shown or never before published – and Jacobite-related objects belonging to National Museums Scotland.

The cover features a recently discovered portrait of the prince by Rosalba Carriera.
