Poppy Scarf

£17.99

Description

This wonderfully cosy scarf is great to wrapping up warm in winter. The pretty red Poppy design features on a grey marl background, with the colours reversed on the other side, meaning it can be worn a number of ways.

The Poppy became a symbol of remembrance after the first world war, when American Academic Moina Michael, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Field" by Lt. Col. John McCrae, campaigned and persuaded Earl Haig to adopt the Poppy as the emblem for the Royal British Legion. 100 years on, the poppy remains a humble, poignant symbol of Remembrance and hope.
